Spincraft earns
Supplier Gold Status with
United Technologies Corporation
N. Billerica, MA: On March 10, 2010, Spincraft’s Massachusetts facility hosted an award ceremony to recognize the plant achieving United Technologies Corporation (UTC) Supplier Gold status in 2009. Representatives from Pratt Whitney Rocketdyne and Pratt Whitney Power Systems were on hand to present the prestigious award that identifies suppliers as having demonstrated ‘best in class’ quality, delivery performance, implementation of a lean culture, and overall strong customer satisfaction, during the preceding 12 months. Only 87 of UTC’s 50,000 suppliers have achieved Supplier Gold status, which is reevaluated annually. Spincraft President Len Paolillo introduced the UTC team to the Spincraft workforce gathered on the factory floor. PWR Director Paul Fowler presented Spincraft MA with the Supplier Gold award and plaque. Kelly Mitchell, Spincraft’s CI Principle Engineer further recognized individual plant employees whose dedicated work and support of the UTC initiatives was critical in achieving the award. |
“Spincraft worked very hard for this award. It’s been rewarding to see the improvements throughout the company in supporting our drive to meet and exceed the requirements set forth by UTC,” stated Mitchell. “We have only just begun our Lean Six Sigma Journey. We do this to become an exceptional company and better serve our Customers. We are fortunate to have the support of UTC.”
Paolillo remarked on the long business relationship and cooperation between Spincraft and Pratt Whitney’s Rocketdyne and Power Systems divisions - a partnership built on developing technical and commercial solutions together. And while the Supplier Gold recognition marked a very satisfying sense of accomplishment, Paolillo stressed that by no means is the hard work over. We’ve ‘raised the bar for future standards,’ he stated, and called upon all Spincraft employees to maintain the forward momentum for continuous improvement.
A special thanks to the UTC group that travelled to Spincraft for this ceremony:
